Something unexpected happened at UFC London, and it changed the whole fight card. Luana Carolina and Melissa Mullins were set to face each other, but the fight was suddenly canceled. The reason was simple but serious, Carolina missed weight by a very big margin. This was supposed to be a 14-fight event, full of exciting matchups. But after the weigh-ins, things took a turn. Carolina came in at 144 lbs, which is 8 pounds over the bantamweight limit of 136 lbs. Because of this, officials had no choice but to cancel the fight for safety and rule reasons. At the same time, another fighter, Ravena Oliveira, also missed weight. She weighed 116.5 lbs, just half a pound over the strawweight limit. Her fight against Shanelle Dyer is still on, but she will lose part of her purse, as reported by MMA Junkie. Still, all the focus quickly shifted to Carolina because of how big her miss was. This moment has now reduced UFC London to 13 fights, leaving fans disappointed but still excited for the remaining bouts.

Luana Carolina’s weight miss against Melissa Mullins raises questions as Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy lead UFC London main card

This is not the first time Luana Carolina has had weight problems. In 2021, she missed weight against Poliana Botelho by 2.5 pounds. Then again in 2024, she came in 3 pounds over against Julija Stoliarenko. Now, this is her third miss, and the biggest one so far. She has struggled in both the 125 lbs and 135 lbs divisions. Last year, she even pulled out of a fight against Montana De La Rosa due to weight issues. So, this latest miss has raised serious concerns about her weight-cut process. On the other side, Melissa Mullins did everything right this time. She made weight perfectly at 136 lbs. Even though she had past issues against Nora Cornolle and Klaudia Syguła, she stayed on target for this fight. Now moving to the main card, things are still looking strong. The biggest fight features Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy, both undefeated fighters. Evloev weighed 146 lbs, while Murphy came in at 145 lbs.In the co-main event, Michael Aswell and Luke Riley also made weight without any issues at 145 lbs and 146 lbs. Another exciting fight includes Michael ‘Venom’ Page, who weighed 171 lbs, and Sam Patterson, who came in at 170 lbs. The rest of the card also stayed on track. Iwo Baraniewski (206 lbs) faces Austen Lane (205 lbs), while Roman Dolidze meets Christian Leroy Duncan, both at 186 lbs. Finally, Kurtis Campbell and Danny Silva both weighed 145 lbs.Even with one fight gone, UFC London still promises action. But the big question remains, will this last-minute change affect the overall excitement of the event?
